# Submerse > Submerse is a bookmarking app for links, images, PDFs and notes, for one person or a few people together. When you save something, Submerse fills in the title and, unless you turn AI off, writes a summary or description and adds labels. You file what you save into collections called pools, can share a pool by email or publish it as a read-only page, and can search everything you've kept. Anyone can sign up at https://submerse.it/sign-up; there is one paid plan, Pro, at $8/month, with a 14-day free trial that needs no card. This file is for AI assistants and agents that answer questions about Submerse or decide whether to use it. It describes Submerse as of October 2026. Step-by-step instructions are on the Help page, https://submerse.it/help. ## What Submerse is - A bookmarking app at https://submerse.it, run by Godspeed Systems LLC, a limited liability company registered in Oregon. - A bookmark is one of four things: a link, an image, a PDF or a note. A voice note is a note that also carries an uploaded recording. - What you save can be summarized or described by AI, labelled, filed into pools, searched by its words, and, for most articles, kept as a clean readable copy so the text outlasts the link. - Every account has a personal workspace with two built-in pools, All Bookmarks and Favorites, plus Look, a pool of things the Submerse team likes, shared with every account. - Ways to use it: the web app (desktop and phone browsers), a Chrome extension, an iPhone app (a beta on TestFlight) and the `submerse` command-line client for macOS. An Android app is coming in 2027. ## Who it's for - People who save things they find (articles, pictures, screenshots, PDFs, recordings) and want to find them again by what they say. - One person on their own, or a few people sharing pools with view or edit access. - People who want to publish a collection as a public page anyone can open without an account. - People who work in a terminal or write scripts: the command-line client has `--json` output. ## Getting an account - Anyone can make an account at https://submerse.it/sign-up, with an email address or with Google. An email sign-up gets a confirmation code by email. - The same account then signs in on the web, in the Chrome extension and in the iPhone app. The iPhone app also offers Sign in with Apple. - The iPhone app can't finish an email sign-up yet, so sign up with email on the website. - Making an account starts no trial. A new account has no plan, which holds 20 bookmarks. Start the 14-day Pro trial from Settings → Billing on the website. - Users must be 13 or older; under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's permission. - New accounts get no starter bookmarks. All Bookmarks starts with Look's posts. A new workspace starts with 10 labels: Architecture, Art, Design, Illustration, Inspiration, Photography, Reference, Technology, Tutorial, Typography. ## What you can save - **Links.** Only web addresses (http:// or https:// with a host). Submerse removes tracking parameters (such as utm_ tags) before it saves the address. Other schemes such as javascript: or tel:, and bare words, are refused. Saving a link you already have (and haven't trashed) makes no copy. On the website, Submerse tells you the date you first saved it. - **Images.** JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, TIFF and BMP, up to 50 MB each, kept at full resolution. On the website, HEIC is converted to JPEG as it uploads, and AVIF usually to WebP. The iPhone app saves photos as JPEG unless they're already JPEG or PNG. - **PDFs.** Up to 50 MB each. - **Notes.** Text you type, up to 50,000 characters. The iPhone app lets you give a title (up to 500 characters). On the website a new note takes its first line as its title, and you can rename it afterwards in the sidebar. - **Voice recordings.** M4A (what iPhone Voice Memos makes, including its .qta 'Editable' export), MP3 or WAV, up to 50 MB. They become voice notes with a transcript. - **Not video.** Video can't be uploaded, not even an MP4 that holds only sound. Export it as M4A, MP3 or WAV first. - A file's type is decided by its bytes, not its name. A file that isn't really a supported image or PDF isn't saved, and the bookmark says so. ## What Submerse does with a save Unless AI is turned off, Submerse reads each new save with AI ("enrichment"). A link you save uses one enrichment from the monthly allowance even with AI off, because the page is still fetched for its title and readable copy. Imported links aren't read and use none. An image or PDF uses one only while AI is on. Notes use none. - **A link:** Submerse fetches the page, sets the title, writes a short summary into the notes (one to five sentences by default) and adds two to five labels, reusing your existing labels when they fit. For most articles it also keeps a clean, readable copy of the text (Reading View). - **YouTube, GitHub, Wikipedia, Hacker News and Stack Overflow links** get the source's own description in their notes instead of an AI summary, and AI labels them when AI is on. **Reddit post links** get a title only, made from the words in the link (in lowercase). Nothing else is fetched or summarized. - **A dead link** (the page answers "not found") is titled with its site address, isn't scraped, and gives its enrichment back. - **An image:** a description of two to four sentences and labels. For a picture of a page, sign, flyer, poster, menu, screenshot, handwritten note or document, it writes out the text instead, which makes the image searchable by its words. The image also gets a title, which replaces the file name only while the title is still the file name. AI reads JPEG, PNG, GIF and WebP; a TIFF or BMP uploaded on the website is kept but not described or labelled. Its notes say so, and no enrichment is used. Re-upload it as JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP to get a description. - **A PDF:** a summary of two to four sentences. Submerse also reads the title and authors off the cover page, and shows them as a stand-in cover when the PDF has no preview image of its first page. The bookmark's own title isn't changed. Only the first two pages are read, so the summary, labels and search words come from those. - **A typed note:** nothing. A note's text is never sent to an AI model and uses no enrichment. A voice note's recording is sent to ElevenLabs to be transcribed (see Notes and voice notes). - **Imported links** (from a browser bookmarks file, a CSV or Are.na) keep the titles they came with and are not summarized or labelled. - AI text goes above any notes already there, separated by a horizontal line. The exception: an image saved with the Chrome extension keeps the page's alt text as its first block, and the description goes underneath. Your own edits to a title or notes are never overwritten. - If Submerse can't read something, the bookmark's sidebar says so beside Notes and offers Retry. "Re-enrich" in More actions (…) reads it again. Retry and Re-enrich each use an enrichment. - You can rewrite the AI prompts: in Settings → Profile, under Enrichment prompts (shown only while Auto-enrich Bookmarks is on), click Edit beside the Link, Image or PDF prompt. A custom prompt can be up to 2,000 characters. ## Notes and voice notes - A note is a bookmark that links to nothing; it's just text. On the website, press "Note" in the + box, type, and click "Save note". Click a note in your list to read or edit it. It has no link to open. - A note without a title takes its first line, up to 80 characters. A note with no title at all shows as "Untitled note". A title can be up to 500 characters. - A voice note is a recording you upload; there is no in-app recorder. Submerse sends the audio to a third-party transcription service (ElevenLabs) and puts the transcript at the top of the note, above anything you wrote. The app says "Voice notes are sent to a third-party service to be transcribed." where you add one. - Transcription happens whether or not "Auto-enrich Bookmarks" is on. - Until the text is ready, the note says it's transcribing. If transcription fails, it says why, for example: "No speech was found in this recording.", "You've used this month's transcription time.", "Transcription is part of Pro." or "This recording is longer than 40 minutes, so it wasn't transcribed." When trying again could help, it offers "Transcribe again". - The title of a voice note is the file's name. If the file has a default name (such as "New Recording 3"), the title becomes the transcript's first sentence, up to 60 characters. - The recording stays with the note. On the website, its "Audio file" link opens it in a new tab. The iPhone app plays it in the app. - Transcription is part of Pro. The free trial includes 30 minutes a month, Pro 5 hours a month, and an account without a plan none (the recording is kept, not transcribed). - Notes and voice notes can't be added to public pools or to Look yet: "Notes can't be added to public pools yet." One added from inside such a pool goes to All Bookmarks only. Public pages never show notes. - Where you can add them: the website, and the iPhone app (Add → Note, Add → Voice note, or share a recording from Voice Memos). The Chrome extension, the command-line client and Android can't create notes or voice notes. ## Pools - A pool is a collection. A bookmark can be in as many pools as you like. - Create one with "+ Pool" at the top of the pool list or "New Pool" in the app menu. A pool has a name, a description, an optional logo, an optional theme and optional label rules. - Right-click a pool for Settings, Sharing and Delete. Deleting a pool doesn't delete its bookmarks; they stay in All Bookmarks. People it was shared with get an email that their access was removed. - **All Bookmarks** holds everything you saved plus the bookmarks in pools shared with you. **Favorites** holds what you starred (the star is in the bookmark's sidebar). Neither can be renamed, deleted, shared, made public or reordered. - Ways to add a bookmark to a pool on the website: drag it onto a pool in the left list; right-click it and choose "Add to Pool…"; tick checkboxes (Shift-click selects a range) and use "Add to Pool" in the bar that appears, for up to 100 bookmarks at a time; or use "Add/Remove" under Pools in the sidebar. Untick a pool to remove the bookmark from it. - Saving while inside a pool (paste, drop or +) also puts the bookmark in that pool. In a pool you can only view, it goes to All Bookmarks instead, and Submerse tells you so. - In a pool you own or can edit, you can drag bookmarks into your own order in list or grid view. New bookmarks join at the top. - Pools don't nest in any of the apps. ### Pools that fill themselves by label - When you create or edit a pool, turn on "Auto-populate from labels" and pick one or more labels. Any bookmark with any of those labels joins the pool automatically, including ones saved later. The pool fills over the following seconds. - A bookmark the pool added this way leaves on its own if it loses the label. One you added by hand stays until you remove it. - If you remove a bookmark from such a pool, it stays out: the pool won't add it back for any label, even if the label set changes, until someone adds it back by hand. In a shared pool this applies to everyone. - The rule reads the bookmark's own labels (the ones shown in All Bookmarks and Favorites), not the pool's own labels. - A pool can use up to 20 labels, and one label can fill up to 100 pools. Only the pool's owner can set its label rules; an editor it was shared with can't. The rule can't be saved with no label picked. ## Labels - Labels are short tags. Submerse adds them when AI reads a save. - There are two kinds. A bookmark's own labels go with it everywhere. A pool's own labels belong to that pool: everyone who can see the pool sees them, and its editors can add, remove and create them. - On the website, opening a bookmark from All Bookmarks or Favorites shows its own labels ("Add/Remove" under Labels). Opening it inside any other pool shows that pool's labels instead. - When a bookmark joins a pool, or AI labels it, its own labels are copied into that pool as pool labels. After that, each pool's copies change independently. - The website and the iPhone app add and remove existing labels on a bookmark. New labels come from AI, the 10 starter labels, or the command-line client. Pool labels can be created on the website with "Search or create…". Deleting one of your own labels is done with the command-line client, which can also rename, recolour and merge them. - Limits: up to 10 labels on a bookmark, and up to 10 of a pool's own labels on a bookmark in that pool. A label name is 2–50 characters. An account can have 1,500 labels, and a pool 1,500 of its own. At 1,500 you can't create another, and AI labelling only reuses existing labels. ## Search - Type in the search bar, or press / to jump to it. Results update as you type and highlight what matched. - Search looks inside the current pool. From All Bookmarks it covers everything, including pools shared with you. - Search matches a bookmark's title, URL and notes. Notes include what Submerse wrote there: summaries, image descriptions and text read from images. So a screenshot can be found by the words in it. - On the website and in the command-line client, when nothing matches exactly, search tries again and forgives typos in words of six letters or more (one wrong letter for six to eight letters, two from nine). The website shows the 50 best matches, and the command-line client 20 by default (up to 200 with --limit); adding a word brings closer matches to the top. - On the website and in the command-line client, search also finds bookmarks with a label whose name, or a later word in it, starts with what you type (two characters or more). These are listed after the word matches, and only when those don't fill the page (50 results on the website; 20 by default in the command-line client, or its --limit). - iPhone search matches title, notes and address only. It doesn't look at labels or forgive typos. - No search looks inside the saved Reading View copy of a page. - A public pool page has its own search over the bookmarks it shows. ## Reading and viewing - **Views.** The website has list, grid and feed views. Clicking a bookmark opens a sidebar on the right with its title, notes, labels and pools, and a More actions (…) menu. Feed view has no sidebar: each post shows its pools, labels and notes underneath; clicking a link's title opens the page and clicking a picture opens the gallery. - **Reading View.** For most articles, Submerse keeps a clean, readable copy of the text. Open it with "Reading View" in More actions (…); Esc closes it. The iPhone app has Reading View too. Images in the copy still load from the original site. Pages that aren't articles, YouTube, GitHub, Reddit, Wikipedia, Hacker News and Stack Overflow links, and dead links get no copy. Anyone who can see a bookmark through a shared pool can read its copy; visitors to a public pool can't. - **Opening the original.** Click the link's title or address in the sidebar, choose "Go to link" from the right-click menu, or select the bookmark and press Enter. ⌘-click (Ctrl-click on other systems) in list or grid view opens it in a new tab. - **PDFs.** Click a PDF's preview in the sidebar to read it full-screen. ← and → turn pages, ⌘= and ⌘- zoom, Esc goes back. - **Images and the gallery.** Click an image's preview to see it full-screen. In any pool except All Bookmarks, press G or click the gallery button to browse the pool's images. Arrow keys or J/K move between images; Esc goes back. - **Tidying images.** "Crop" and "Text Document" (a clean-up filter for photos of pages) are in the right-click menu and More actions. "Revert to Original" restores the image as you saved it. - **Copying and downloading images (website only).** Right-click an image bookmark and choose "Copy image" or "Download image". Anyone signed in who can see the image can do both, including viewers of a pool shared with them. A copied animated GIF pastes as its first frame; a download keeps it animated. A public pool link has no Submerse menu. ## Sharing a pool - Only a pool's owner can share it (on the website or in the iPhone app), rename it, change its settings, publish it or delete it. Editors manage the bookmarks in it. To share on the website: 1. Open the pool and click the share button next to + (or right-click the pool → Sharing). 2. Under "Share privately with", enter email addresses separated by commas. You can add a personal message. 3. Turn on "Also allow them to edit" to make them editors. With it off, they can only view. 4. Click "Share Pool". - Viewers see the pool's bookmarks. Editors can also add and remove bookmarks. They can edit, or move to the trash, any bookmark that its own owner put in the pool (the pool owner's or another member's). A bookmark moved to the trash disappears from every pool and goes to its owner's Trash; restoring it brings it back in the same pools. - Someone without an account gets an email invitation. Once they sign up with the invited address, the pool appears in their pool list and its bookmarks in their All Bookmarks. People who already have an account get the invitation email too, and have access straight away, with no step to accept. When someone you invited without an account signs up with that address, you get an email saying they joined, unless you turned off Collaboration emails. - Under "Currently Shared With" you can switch anyone between Viewer and Editor, or remove them, and see whether each invitation email was delivered. - All Bookmarks and Favorites can't be shared. - Sharing by email is counted per UTC day: 200 addresses a day with a plan or the free trial, 10 a day without a plan. Every address counts, including people already on Submerse and repeat invitations. A share that would go past the limit isn't sent at all. - Someone a pool was shared with can leave it on the website: right-click the pool in the sidebar (on a phone, tap its actions button) and choose Leave. It leaves their sidebar and their All Bookmarks; what they added stays in the pool; only the owner can share it with them again. Leaving sends no email. - A pool's theme is shown to visitors of its public link. People you share it with see their own theme. ## Public links - The owner can publish a pool: in its Sharing tab, turn on "Public link" and copy the short sbmr.se link. This is done on the website. - Anyone with the link can open the pool without an account and look, but not change anything. They see it in the pool's theme, with search and the image gallery. Turning "Public link" off closes it. - A public pool shows each bookmark's title, link, picture and notes, AI summaries included. Anything added later is public too. Read the pool's notes before turning the link on. - A public page shows only the pool's first 500 bookmarks and says so when there are more; its search covers only those. Notes, voice notes and trashed bookmarks are never shown. - Visitors who aren't signed in can load public pool pages 30 times a minute per network address, in bursts of up to 60. Each letter typed or deleted in the page's search counts as a load. Past that, the page says "Too many requests from this location" for a moment. Signed-in people aren't limited. - Opening an sbmr.se link is recorded with the referring page and browser type, but no IP address. ## Look - Look (https://submerse.it/look) is a page of things the Submerse team likes, picked by hand. It is a pool owned by the Submerse team and shared with every account as a viewer, so its posts appear in your All Bookmarks. New accounts already have it. - Signed out, https://submerse.it/look is a public page that loads 24 items at a time. Each item has its own page. Signed in, /look opens Look's pool in the app. - To hide it, right-click Look in the sidebar and choose Leave (on the iPhone app, use the pool's menu). Its posts leave your All Bookmarks. To add it back, open https://submerse.it/look while signed in and choose "Add Look". In the iPhone app, opening a Look link offers "Add Look" too. - Look's captions are the curator's own words; AI text is never published as a caption. Look shows only links, images and PDFs. - Look has an RSS feed of its newest 50 posts at https://submerse.it/look/rss.xml, and a JSON feed at https://submerse.it/look/feed.json. - Look sends no emails, and its page isn't rate-limited. - People can't publish their own Look-style page; they can publish a pool with a public link instead. ## Apps and ways to save All apps use the same account and the same data. ### Web app (submerse.it) - The left column lists your pools: All Bookmarks, Favorites, your pools, pools shared with you, and Look. Above the bookmarks are the list, grid and feed views, search, the + button, and, inside a pool, the share button. - **Paste to save:** copy a URL and press ⌘V (Ctrl+V on other systems) while looking at your bookmarks, with no text field selected. It takes the first web address in the pasted text; a bare domain like example.com is saved as https://. Text with no address is ignored. A "Paste URL from anywhere" switch in Settings turns this off; it's remembered per browser. - **The + button** has three modes: enter a URL (with optional notes) and click "Add Bookmark"; choose "Image / PDF / audio" to upload a file; or press "Note". - **Drag and drop** images, PDFs or voice recordings onto the page. - The Submerse logo opens the app menu: All Bookmarks, New Pool, Trash, Workspace, Settings, Theme, Import/Export, Help, Report a Bug, Learn Shortcuts, More (Onboarding, Getting Started) and Sign Out. - ⌘K (Ctrl+K) opens the command menu: Settings, create a pool with the name you typed, Trash, Themes and Report a bug, plus every pool to jump to. Typing a theme's name lists it at the top; press Enter or click it to apply it. - **In a phone's browser** Submerse works too. The logo opens your pools, and the app menu sits at the bottom of that list. Pools and pool rows have an actions button in place of right-click. ### Chrome extension - Install it from the Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/bmlkneaojkebmhdfiboeppkfeakkhpok. It needs Chrome 92 or later. - Sign in with your Submerse account; the extension opens submerse.it/sign-in and shares that session. - **Save a page:** click the Submerse toolbar icon, tick the pools to save into (you can search, or type a new name to create a pool), and click "Save to Submerse". Every save also goes to All Bookmarks. Only pools you can add to are listed. On a page you saved before, the popup shows which pools it's in, and "Update" changes them. - **Save an image:** right-click it and choose "Save image to Submerse". This saves the image itself to All Bookmarks with no popup and remembers the page it came from. The image's alt text from the page becomes the first block of its notes. Images up to 50 MB; SVG isn't supported. Chrome may ask, at the click, for permission to read images from that site. A notification reports the result. - The popup has no notes field, no bookmark search and no label editing. It has no keyboard shortcut. Its ⋯ menu has Settings (opens the website) and Sign Out. - The extension follows your Submerse theme. - At the 20-bookmark limit without a plan, an image save says "Pro subscription required" and "Upgrade to save images to Submerse." - Permissions: storage, tabs, activeTab, contextMenus, cookies (to share the website's sign-in), scripting and notifications, with access to submerse.it and the services it runs on. It reads a tab only when you open the popup there or save an image. It doesn't track browsing history. - Chrome is the supported browser. Firefox and Safari aren't supported. ### iPhone app (beta) - The iPhone app is a beta on TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/Xu6KWMWv. It needs iOS 18.2 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. Subscribing isn't possible in the app; use the website. - Sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password. Email sign-ups have to be finished on the website. To reset a password, use "Forgot password?" on https://submerse.it/sign-in. - **Share sheet:** share links, images, PDFs, text with a link in it, or voice recordings from Safari, Photos, Mail, Voice Memos or another app. It appears as "SubmerseShare" and needs iOS 26.2 or later. You can share several photos or PDFs at once. Shares land in All Bookmarks. A batch of files, or a recording, finishes uploading the next time you open Submerse. Text with no web link isn't saved. - **Add menu:** Paste URL, Select Photos (up to 20 at a time), Select PDFs, Note and Voice note. - **Also in the app:** list and grid views, Reading View, voice-note playback (play/pause, scrubber, 15-second skips; it pauses when the app goes to the background), sharing a pool by email, pool settings, new pools with auto-populate from labels, reordering a pool, themes, Favorite, Crop, Text Document, Revert to Original, Re-enrich, Delete, Report a bug and Delete Account. - **Not in the app yet:** public links, pool labels, copying or downloading images, leaving a pool shared with you by email (Look can be left), and a Trash screen. Delete moves a bookmark to the trash; restore it or delete it forever on the website or with the command-line client. - iPhone search doesn't look at labels or forgive typos. The app shows only a bookmark's own labels, so changing a label there can add a bookmark to an auto-populating pool or take it out. - Photos picked in the app, and images shared as pictures, are saved as JPEG unless they're already JPEG or PNG, so an animated GIF keeps only its first frame. Share its link instead, or upload it on the website. ### Android - There is no Android app yet. An Android app is coming in 2027. Android users can use the website in a phone's browser. ### Command line (`submerse`) - `submerse` is a command-line client. It adds, lists, searches, moves, labels and trashes bookmarks from a terminal, and has `--json` output for scripts. - On a Mac, install it with Homebrew: `brew install godspeedsys/tap/submerse`. The CLI's source isn't public. https://github.com/godspeedsys/submerse-cli has its releases (a universal macOS binary) and README, and the Homebrew formula is in the godspeedsys/homebrew-tap tap. It works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Update it with `brew upgrade submerse`. Homebrew also installs completions for bash, zsh and fish. There are no Linux or Windows builds yet. - **Sign in:** `submerse auth login` opens a page on submerse.it that asks you to approve "A device calling itself Submerse CLI (you@your-computer)" (or the name given with --name), and to approve only if you just ran the command yourself, with Approve and Cancel. Approve within 10 minutes, or run it again. `--no-browser` prints the link instead of opening a browser. The browser you open it in must be able to reach this machine's 127.0.0.1 port, so over SSH you need port forwarding. `--name` sets the device name. - Each sign-in creates a key, listed under "CLI access" in Settings → Profile. Signing in again with the same config folder replaces and revokes the key saved there. Keys saved in another config folder (such as a separate one for scripts) or on other machines are kept. Each new key sends a security email. Revoking a key signs that machine out within two minutes. An account can hold 50 keys. - The saved key is kept in a private file under ~/.config/submerse. For scripts, CI or agents, sign in with a separate key in its own config folder and pass it through an environment variable. - **Commands:** - `auth login | logout | status | token | keys | revoke KEY_ID`, and `whoami` - `add URL [--title] [--note] [--pool …] [--label …] [--favorite]` - `list` (or `ls`) `[--pool] [--limit 1–500, default 50] [--cursor] [--all]` - `show`, `open`, `edit BOOKMARK [--title | --clear-title] [--note | --append-note | --clear-note] [--url]` - `search WORDS… [--pool] [--limit 1–200, default 20]` - `rm` and `restore BOOKMARK…`; `trash list`, `trash purge BOOKMARK… [--yes]`, `trash empty [--yes]` - `mv BOOKMARK… --to POOL [--from POOL]`, `cp BOOKMARK… --to POOL`, `fav` and `unfav` - `reorder BOOKMARK --pool POOL (--top | --bottom | --before B | --after B)` - `pool list | create | rename | edit | rm | add | remove` - `label list | create [--color #RRGGBB] | rename | color | rm | merge`, and `tag` / `untag BOOKMARK LABEL…` - `completions SHELL` (bash, zsh, fish, elvish or powershell) - A POOL can be its id, its name (case doesn't matter), `all` (All Bookmarks) or `favorites`. A name that matches more than one pool or label is refused, with the candidates' ids. - Destructive commands (`trash purge`, `trash empty`, `pool rm`, `label rm`, `label merge`) ask for confirmation in a terminal and need `--yes` in a script. - `add` takes web addresses only. It can't upload a file (image, PDF or recording) or create a note. A `--title` you give is kept and not replaced by AI. Saving a link you already have prints "Already saved" with its id. - `--json`: standard output carries exactly one JSON document; errors go to standard error as `{"error":{"code","message"}}`. Fields may be added but are never renamed or removed. A bookmark's `type` is link, image, pdf or note; a note's `url` is an identifier (`note:…`), not a web address, so check `type` before using `url`. - Exit codes: 0 success, 1 error, 2 usage or refused, 3 not signed in, 4 not found. - Search results can lag a few seconds behind recent saves and edits. - **What a CLI key can do:** read, add, edit and organize your bookmarks, pools and labels; permanently delete pools, labels and bookmarks in your trash; and change your settings through the API. The CLI itself has no settings command; use Settings on the website. - **What it can't do:** share pools or make them public, use admin features, approve other command-line logins, delete your account, join Look, request onboarding topic suggestions, or upload audio for transcription. It doesn't read or change a pool's own labels. ## Keyboard shortcuts and power features On the website, in the main view (on Windows and Linux, use Ctrl in place of ⌘). Press ? or choose "Learn Shortcuts" in the app menu to see them in the app. - / focuses search - ↓/↑ or J/K move through bookmarks - Enter opens the selected bookmark's link in a new tab - S or ] opens or closes the sidebar - Esc closes the sidebar or clears a selection - ⌘V saves the URL on your clipboard - G opens the pool's image gallery (not in All Bookmarks) - ⌘K opens the command menu - ? shows shortcuts - In the PDF viewer, ←/→ turn pages and ⌘= / ⌘- zoom. In the gallery, the arrows or J/K move between images. Esc leaves both. - Once one bookmark is ticked, holding Shift shows every checkbox, and Shift-clicking another selects everything between them. ⌘-click opens a bookmark in a new tab. Other power features: label-filled pools, custom AI prompts, custom themes, Are.na import and export, and the command-line client with `--json`. ## Import and export Both are under Import/Export in the website's app menu. - **Import from Browser:** a bookmarks .html file exported from Chrome, Edge or Firefox; the dialog shows how to make one. Safari isn't supported yet. Each folder becomes a private pool, named with its full path (for example "Bookmarks Bar / Work / Projects"). Bookmarks at the top level go to All Bookmarks. The result shows how many were added, were duplicates, failed or didn't fit the no-plan allowance. - **Import from CSV:** a spreadsheet with a `url` column, plus optional `title` and `notes` columns. The bookmarks go into the pool you're in. - **Import from Are.na:** connect your Are.na account and pick channels. Each channel becomes a private pool. Running it again adds only what's missing. Images and PDFs up to 50 MB are copied in and read by AI like any upload, each using one enrichment (unless AI is off). Other files (audio, video) come in as links to their Are.na page. Channels of up to 50,000 blocks, from accounts with up to 5,000 channels. Channels inside a channel are skipped, and titles are cut to 500 characters. - Imported bookmarks count toward the 20-bookmark no-plan allowance. A browser import with no room left creates nothing. - **Export to CSV:** downloads a spreadsheet with each bookmark's date added, title, URL and notes (columns "Date Added, Title, URL, Notes"). Import from CSV can read it back, except notes, whose rows have no URL and are refused; dates are not restored. It leaves out uploaded files, pools, labels and the trash. A note's URL cell is empty. It works for libraries of up to 100,000 bookmarks, counting the trash; beyond that, write to support for a copy. - **Export to Are.na:** copies the pools you choose to your Are.na account as channels. Bookmarks in no pool go to a channel called Unsorted. Running it again adds only what's new. To send one pool, right-click it and choose "Export to Are.na…". Text notes and voice notes aren't sent yet. Other bookmarks keep their notes and labels, cut to 10,000 characters. It handles pools of up to 20,000 bookmarks, counting the trash, and sends about 100 a minute while its page stays open. A free Are.na account holds 200 blocks, so the export stops there. - Other ways to get things out: the command-line client's `--json`, "Download image" on the website, a voice note's "Audio file" link, and a custom theme's "Export" (.json). There is no one-click export of a whole account with its files. ## Settings and themes - Settings (from the app menu) has four tabs: Profile, Themes, Billing and Affiliate. - Profile holds your name and email, CLI access, email notifications ("Collaboration emails"), the AI switch ("Auto-enrich Bookmarks"), your enrichment prompts, and Delete Account. - To change your email, enter the new address on Profile and confirm it with the emailed code. To change your password, sign out and use "Forgot password?" on the website's sign-in page. - Seven built-in themes: Communion, Protection, Midnight, Iceland, Rose, Ocean and Sand. Ocean is the default on the website and in the iPhone app. Choose one in Settings → Themes, from Theme in the app menu, or by typing its name in the command menu. The choice is saved to your account, so the website shows it wherever you sign in, and the Chrome extension follows it. The iPhone app has its own theme picker. - Custom themes: click "New theme" under Custom themes. In a theme's editor, "Export" saves it as a .json file and "Import" adds a .json file as a new theme. - A pool's owner can give it a theme under "Pool theme" in the pool's Settings. Visitors to its public link see it. To see it yourself, turn on "Use in my view". - Onboarding: a new account first picks a theme, then answers "What are your interests and current projects?" (up to 500 characters). AI suggests topics, you remove the ones that don't fit, and "Yes, these look good" creates a private pool for each. A welcome dialog follows. Onboarding happens once, on the website or the iPhone app, and can be reopened from More in the app menu. ## Plans and pricing There is one paid plan, Pro, at $8/month, billed monthly. The app's checkout offers no yearly plan. | | No plan | Free trial | Pro | Pro — Complimentary | |---|---|---|---|---| | Price | Free | Free for 14 days, no card needed | $8/month | Nothing to pay | | Bookmarks | 20 | No limit | No limit | No limit | | Enrichments (AI reads) a month | 20 | 555 | 555 | No limit | | Voice-note transcription a month | None | 30 minutes | 5 hours | 10 hours | | Pool-share email addresses a day | 10 | 200 | 200 | 200 | - **No plan.** Every account starts here. It holds 20 bookmarks. Every bookmark you own counts, including notes, voice notes, trashed and imported bookmarks. It isn't a monthly count: a bookmark counts for as long as you own it, so only deleting one forever (Delete forever or Empty Trash) frees its place. Settings → Billing shows "Free plan: N bookmarks left." At 20 you can still open everything, but adding more needs Pro: "Free accounts can hold up to 20 bookmarks. Subscribe to add more." - **Free trial.** Pro free for 14 days, no card needed. Start it with "Start free trial" in Settings → Billing on the website (an account that has already had a trial sees "Subscribe"), which also shows when the trial ends; the app menu counts down the days. It is the same as Pro except for transcription (30 minutes a month). When the trial ends, Pro continues and the card is charged if one is on the account; otherwise the account moves to the free plan and isn't charged. Your bookmarks all stay. - **Pro.** $8/month. It lifts the 20-bookmark limit and includes 555 enrichments and 5 hours of transcription a month. The pricing card lists: unlimited links, images and PDFs; notes, and voice notes turned into text; AI summaries and labels; search across titles, notes and summaries; readable copies of most articles; collections you can share or publish; import and export, including Are.na; the iPhone app (beta); the Chrome extension. - **Pro — Complimentary.** Some accounts are given Pro at no charge by the Submerse team. Billing then says "Pro — Complimentary". - **Where to pay.** Only on the website, in Settings → Billing. The iPhone app has no in-app purchase; it shows only how many trial days are left. Checkout and billing are handled by Clerk and its payment processor. Submerse never sees the full card number and stores no payment details. - **Enrichments.** One is used each time Submerse reads a bookmark: a new save, a Retry or a Re-enrich. A failed read still counts. Only a link to a page that answers "not found" gives its enrichment back. Notes and voice notes use none, and neither does an image in a format the AI can't read (such as TIFF or BMP), which is kept but skipped. Re-enriching or retrying a bookmark someone else added to a shared pool uses their enrichments, not yours. Settings → Billing shows "X of Y enrichments used this month" ("N enrichments this month (unlimited)" for Pro — Complimentary). It doesn't show transcription time yet. - **A month** is a calendar month in UTC: enrichments and transcription time reset at midnight UTC on the 1st. What you used in a month counts against whatever plan you have; if a trial or plan ends partway through a month, the enrichments already used count toward the no-plan 20. - **Cancelling.** Cancel any time from "Manage subscription" in Settings → Billing. Pro lasts until the end of the paid period (Billing shows "Pro — ends" with the date), then the account moves to the free plan. Your bookmarks all stay. - **A failed payment.** If a renewal payment fails, the account has no-plan limits until the payment goes through. An email ("Action needed: your Submerse payment failed") links to Billing to update the payment method. - **Refunds.** The Terms say: contact support@submerse.it if you are disappointed with the service or have concerns about billing or charges. - **Terms.** Paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Price changes are announced at least 30 days ahead. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period. ## Limits When a limit refuses something, the app says so, and nothing already saved is touched. The one exception is the iPhone share queue (below). If a limit gets in the way of real use, write to support@submerse.it. ### At the enrichment limit - New bookmarks still save with a title (for a YouTube video or a Reddit post, only the site's name), but Submerse doesn't read them. Links get no summary, labels or Reading View copy, and images and PDFs get no description or searchable text. Re-enrich them once the new month starts. ### How fast you can do things Each of these allows a quick burst, then a steady pace. Waiting is always enough, and nothing is lost. Past a limit, Submerse asks you to try again shortly; website uploads wait their turn automatically. - Uploading files: 300 right away, then one every two seconds. - Cropping or replacing an image: 20 right away, then one a minute. - "Transcribe again" on a voice note: 3 right away, then 10 a day, across all your voice notes. - Topic suggestions during onboarding: 5 right away, then one every 6 minutes, no more than 20 a day. - "Get the Submerse iOS app" email in the welcome dialog: twice, then once every 8 hours. - Public pool pages, for visitors who aren't signed in: 30 loads a minute per network address, bursts of 60. Sharing a pool by email is counted per UTC day instead: 200 addresses with a plan or the trial, 10 without, starting again at midnight UTC. A share that would go past it isn't sent at all; send it to fewer people, or the next day. ### Voice notes - A recording can be up to 50 MB, and one up to 40 minutes long is transcribed. A recording Submerse can tell is longer is kept but not transcribed. One whose length it can't read is sent anyway, and all of it counts toward your month. - Three of your recordings are transcribed at once. The rest wait their turn for up to about 10 minutes; one still waiting after that stops and offers "Transcribe again". - Each recording gets three transcription tries in total, counting automatic ones. After the third it can't be transcribed again. Only the person who added a recording can transcribe it again. - A transcript has to fit in the note's 50,000 characters along with what you wrote. A very long one is cut short and the note says so; if your own text leaves no room, the transcript is left out. - A recording is let through if any of the month's time is left when it starts; the limit stops the next one. If a transcription fails partway, the time it may have used still counts. ### Sizes and counts - A file (image, PDF or recording): 50 MB. A pool logo: 5 MB. - Of a PDF, only the first two pages are read. - A title: 500 characters. Notes: 50,000 characters on a bookmark or in a note. When a bookmark's notes are close to that, Submerse can't add its summary or description. - Labels: 10 on a bookmark, plus 10 of a pool's own; names 2–50 characters; 1,500 per account and 1,500 per pool. - Label-filled pools: 20 labels per pool; one label fills up to 100 pools. - Changing pools for a selection: up to 100 bookmarks at a time. Moving a selection to the trash: up to 100. - Website search shows its 50 best matches. - The image arrows reach images among a pool's first 1,900 bookmarks. In All Bookmarks they reach up to 500 images from your newest 1,900 bookmarks. An image further down still opens on its own. - Empty Trash on the website deletes up to 4,000 bookmarks per run; run it again for the rest. - A custom AI prompt: 2,000 characters. Onboarding interests: 500 characters. - A public pool page: the first 500 bookmarks. ### In the iPhone app - Up to 20 photos per pick. - Photos and PDFs shared two or more at a time, and any recording, wait on the phone until you next open Submerse. Up to 50 can wait; beyond that the oldest are dropped, with no message. - The share sheet has 15 seconds to finish. If it takes longer it says "This is taking too long.", and two or more files, or a recording, are then not saved. A single photo or PDF may still finish uploading, so check Submerse before sharing it again. ### Import and export - Are.na import: channels of up to 50,000 blocks, accounts with up to 5,000 channels, files up to 50 MB. - Are.na export: pools of up to 20,000 bookmarks, about 100 a minute, notes cut to 10,000 characters; a free Are.na account stops at 200 blocks. - CSV export: libraries of up to 100,000 bookmarks. ### Command line - 50 keys per account. A login has to be approved within 10 minutes. - A list page holds up to 500 bookmarks, and `--all` stops after 200 pages. A search returns up to 200 matches. `trash list` pages hold up to 100. - A pool name is up to 100 characters. A URL is up to 2,048 characters. - `reorder` works on pools of up to 3,000 bookmarks; bigger pools have to be ordered in the app. ## AI and your data - **Provider.** AI work is done by Anthropic's Claude: Claude Haiku writes summaries, descriptions, labels, image titles and onboarding topic suggestions, and Claude Sonnet cleans up page text that Submerse's own cleaning can't tidy. Voice notes are transcribed by ElevenLabs. - **What goes to Anthropic:** page text (the summary reads the first 8,000 characters of the cleaned page; a page is sent for cleanup only if it is 15,000 characters or fewer) with the page's title and address; images saved as bookmarks, which Anthropic fetches by address: for a file on Submerse's CDN, a copy the CDN scales to 1,568 pixels wide; for an image link Submerse couldn't copy, the original from its own site; the first two pages of PDFs (the whole file if it can't be split); your workspace's existing label names; any enrichment prompts you wrote; and the interests you type during onboarding. - **The AI switch.** "Auto-enrich Bookmarks" in Settings → Profile on the website. It is on by default and saved on your account, so it applies to saves from every app. Only the website shows the switch. An account with no plan that has reached its 20 bookmarks sees the switch greyed out, shown as off and marked Pro, and can't change it there. The saved setting stays as it was. - **With it off:** no summaries, no AI labels and no AI cleanup for new bookmarks, and no page text, image or PDF goes to Anthropic. Image and PDF uploads use no enrichment. - **What still happens with it off:** a link save still uses one enrichment, and the page is still fetched and scraped (through Context.dev) for its title and readable copy. Sites like YouTube still get their own description in the notes. Voice notes are still sent to ElevenLabs for transcription. Onboarding interests still go to Anthropic. Bookmarks are still indexed for search. - **Whose switch applies.** Reading a bookmark follows its owner's setting and uses its owner's enrichments, even when someone else in a shared pool clicks Retry or Re-enrich. - **Ownership.** You keep all ownership rights to what you save, including bookmarks and notes. The Terms give Submerse a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process and display it only to provide the service to you. Rights in third-party content stay with its owners; saved copies are for personal, non-commercial use, and AI summaries are for personal reference. - **No selling, no ads.** Submerse doesn't sell personal data or share it with advertising services. Session replays and bug recordings are used only to diagnose problems. ## Privacy and security The privacy policy (https://submerse.it/privacy) covers the website, the browser extension, the iPhone app, the command-line client, and the Android app once it is released. It names these services and what they receive: - **Clerk:** sign-in, accounts, checkout and billing. Your email, name and, if you subscribe, payment details (which go to Clerk and its payment processor). A Cloudflare Turnstile check at sign-up shares browser and device details with Cloudflare. - **Convex:** the database that holds your bookmarks, pools and workspaces. - **Turbopuffer:** the search index. Each bookmark's title, notes (your own, AI summaries and transcripts) and URL, the identifiers of its workspace, owner and pools, and whether it is in the trash; and the words you search for. - **Vercel:** hosts the website. Connection details and usage analytics. - **Context.dev:** turns web pages into text. The URLs you bookmark, each time a link is read. - **Anthropic:** AI summaries, descriptions, labels, cleanup and onboarding suggestions (details above). - **TypeSafe:** listed as planned and not in use; no page you save is sent to it. - **ElevenLabs:** voice-note audio. Once the transcript is back, Submerse asks ElevenLabs to delete its copy; if that fails, ElevenLabs' own retention applies. - **Resend:** sends email. Addresses, your first name and each email's content. - **Sentry:** error reports and the Report a Bug form: error details, page addresses, device and browser details, account and pool identifiers, and a short trail of recent actions. A bug report adds what you wrote and your account email and name. - **PostHog:** product analytics, on the website while signed in and when Submerse processes a bookmark you saved. Page views, feature use, your email, name and workspace, and the address of each bookmark Submerse processes. Where session replay is enabled, it hides the text and titles of text notes and voice notes, but not the notes you write on a link, image or PDF. - **Jam:** bug recordings on the website, only when you start a recording and then submit it. - **YouTube Data API (Google) and other sites' public APIs:** a YouTube video's ID, and links to GitHub, Stack Overflow and other Stack Exchange sites, Hacker News and Wikipedia, to fetch their titles and descriptions. - **Bunny.net:** stores and serves your uploaded files (images, PDFs, recordings). Other facts: - Since 22 October 2026, an uploaded JPEG, PNG or WebP image has its location and other private metadata (Exif including GPS, XMP, IPTC) removed before it is stored; only the orientation is written back. Images uploaded before then may still carry it. TIFF and AVIF images, PDF document details and recordings' own tags are not changed. - Files uploaded since 22 October 2026 are stored under addresses that include a random 128-bit token; earlier files keep addresses built from their workspace and bookmark ids. A deleted file can still be served from the file host's caches for up to 30 days. - Data is sent over HTTPS/TLS. The Trash is never emptied automatically: trashed bookmarks stay (and still count toward the no-plan 20) until you delete them forever, empty the Trash or delete your account. CLI keys are stored on the server only as a hash. Each CLI key's name (by default your computer's user name and host name, unless you set one with --name) is stored with when it was created and last used, and is included in the security email sent when the key is created. - Emails come from support@app.submerse.it; replies go to support@submerse.it. Copies of sent emails are kept for 30 days. - The browser extension reads a tab only when you open its popup there or save an image, and doesn't track browsing history. ## Emails - **Collaboration emails** (can be turned off with "Collaboration emails" in Settings → Profile): someone joined your pool, your access changed, your access was removed, and a digest of new bookmarks in a shared pool (sent to everyone in it except the person who added them). - **Pool invitations** are sent whenever someone shares a pool with you. - **Always sent:** a welcome email at sign-up; trial started; trial ending (7 days and 1 day before); trial ended; subscription active; payment failed; plan ended; and security emails (email address changed, account deleted, a new CLI key created). - Leaving a pool, leaving or rejoining Look, and Look's own posts send no email. ## Account and deletion - **Delete on the website:** at the bottom of Settings → Profile, click "Delete Everything", type your email to confirm, then "Delete my account". - **Delete in the iPhone app:** Settings → Delete Account, type DELETE, then "Delete my account". - You can also email support@submerse.it. The command-line client can't delete an account. - **Cancel first.** If your plan renews (a trial included), cancel it from "Manage subscription" in Settings → Billing; Submerse won't delete an account whose plan is still set to renew: "Cancel your subscription first, then delete your account." - **Keep a copy first** with Export to CSV. - **What's removed:** every bookmark with its notes, files and reading copy; your pools, including shared ones (people you shared with lose access); your labels, themes and settings; your search entries; and your sign-in account. Deletion starts at once and usually finishes within minutes. CLI keys stop working right away. It can't be undone. - **What's kept for a while:** database backups for up to 7 days, copies of sent emails for up to 30 days, and file caches for up to 30 days. Information already shared with the services above, such as an error report, a bug-report recording or analytics events, is kept under those services' own retention periods, and our email provider keeps delivery logs under its own. Other people's bookmarks stay in their pools, including ones you filed into a pool or labelled there, without your name on them. Your own bookmarks are deleted everywhere, including from pools other people own. Affiliate payment records are kept for tax purposes. ## Affiliate program - In Settings → Affiliate ("Refer & earn") on the website. Applications are reviewed by hand. - An approved affiliate earns a flat cash bounty for each referred customer who becomes a paying subscriber; the amount is shown in the dashboard. A trial earns nothing; the bounty comes only with a real charge. - Earnings are held for 60 days after a conversion, then become payable. Payouts are made by hand once the payable balance reaches $25. - A click has to lead to a sign-up within 30 days, and the sign-up to a paying customer within 60 days. - Referred customers get no discount. ## Support - Email support@submerse.it for anything: help, billing and refunds, privacy questions, account deletion, copyright complaints, ideas, and requests for a Linux or Windows build of the command-line client. - When signed in on the website, choose "Report a Bug" in the app menu or "Report a bug" in the command menu. The report sends what you wrote with the page you were on, your session state and your account (name and email), so the problem can be reproduced. If sending fails, it offers email instead. The iPhone app has Report a bug under Settings → Help. ## Frequently asked questions **Is there a free plan?** Yes. An account without a plan holds 20 bookmarks and gets 20 enrichments a month, with no voice-note transcription. Every bookmark you own counts, including notes and trashed ones, for as long as you own it. Deleting one forever frees its place; the 20 isn't a monthly allowance. **Does the free trial need a card?** No. Pro is free for 14 days with no card. Start it with "Start free trial" in Settings → Billing on the website. If no card is on the account when it ends, the account moves to the free plan and isn't charged. **How much does Submerse cost?** Pro is $8/month, billed monthly. There is no yearly plan in the app's checkout. **What is a pool?** A collection of bookmarks. A bookmark can be in many pools. A pool can be private, shared by email with viewers or editors, published as a public link, or set to fill itself with bookmarks carrying chosen labels. **How do I share a pool?** On the website, open the pool, click the share button next to +, enter email addresses, choose whether they can edit, and click "Share Pool". People without an account get an invitation and see the pool once they sign up with that address. **Who can see my bookmarks?** People see a bookmark only if it's in a pool they share with you (one you shared, or one someone shared with you that you added it to) or in a pool published with a public link. Members of a shared pool also get the titles of new bookmarks in its digest email. A public link shows titles, links, pictures and notes, AI summaries included, to anyone who has it. **Can I turn off AI?** Yes. Switch off "Auto-enrich Bookmarks" in Settings → Profile on the website. New bookmarks then get no AI summaries or labels, and no page text, image or PDF goes to Anthropic. The interests you type during onboarding still do. Voice notes are still transcribed by a third-party service, and a link save still uses an enrichment. **Is there an Android app?** Not yet. An Android app is coming in 2027. On Android, use https://submerse.it in the phone's browser. **Is there an iPhone app?** Yes, as a beta on TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/Xu6KWMWv. It saves from the share sheet (iOS 26.2 or later; the app itself needs 18.2), plays voice notes and has Reading View. Subscribe on the website. **Is there a browser extension for Firefox or Safari?** No. The extension is for Chrome only: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/bmlkneaojkebmhdfiboeppkfeakkhpok. **Is there an API?** There is no public API documented. To script Submerse, use the `submerse` command-line client with `--json`; its output fields may be added to but are never renamed or removed. **How do I install the command-line client?** On a Mac, run `brew install godspeedsys/tap/submerse`, then `submerse auth login`. There are no Linux or Windows builds yet. **Can I export my data?** Yes. Export to CSV (date added, title, URL, notes) and Export to Are.na are under Import/Export in the app menu. Images can be downloaded one at a time. There is no single export of a whole account with its files. You can also ask support@submerse.it for a copy of your data. **Can I import my browser bookmarks?** Yes, from a bookmarks .html file exported from Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Each folder becomes a private pool. You can also import a CSV or Are.na channels. **How do I move from Are.na?** Start the free trial, then use Import from Are.na on the website. Each channel you pick becomes a private pool, and each bookmark the import adds keeps a credit to whoever posted the block. How the two differ, what comes with you, what stays on Are.na, and the steps: https://submerse.it/moving-from-arena. **How does Submerse compare with mymind?** mymind is for one person by design, with no shared collections (you can send someone a single card); Submerse shares pools with viewers or editors and publishes them as public pages. mymind has a free plan for 100 cards, yearly prices, native Mac and Android apps, an offline iPhone app, color and object search, an API and an export with your files; Submerse has imports (browser, CSV, Are.na), email sign-up and one $8/month plan with summaries and readable copies included. How the two approaches differ, where mymind is ahead, and the steps to move a mymind library over, checked against mymind's own pages in October 2026: https://submerse.it/vs/mymind. **How do I delete my account?** Cancel any renewing plan first, then click "Delete Everything" at the bottom of Settings → Profile and type your email, or use Settings → Delete Account in the iPhone app. Everything you own is removed and it can't be undone. **What happens when I reach the monthly enrichment limit?** New bookmarks still save with a title, but get no summary, labels, description or readable copy. Re-enrich them after the month resets at midnight UTC on the 1st. **Can I save the same link twice?** Saving a link you already have (and haven't trashed) makes no copy. On the website, Submerse tells you the date you first saved it. **What is Look, and can I remove it?** Look is a pool of things the Submerse team likes, shared with every account, so its posts show in All Bookmarks. Right-click Look and choose Leave to hide it; add it back from https://submerse.it/look. **Does Submerse sell my data or show ads?** No. Submerse doesn't sell personal data or share it with advertising services. **Where are my uploaded files stored?** On Bunny.net's file host. Since 22 October 2026, location data is removed from JPEG, PNG and WebP images when they're uploaded; images uploaded earlier may still carry it. ## Docs - [Help & Documentation](https://submerse.it/help): saving, pools, search, sharing and reading - [Pricing](https://submerse.it/pricing): the plan and what it includes - [Sign up](https://submerse.it/sign-up): make an account - [Look](https://submerse.it/look): things we like, picked by hand - [Help: Limits](https://submerse.it/help#limits): every limit a person can meet, with the numbers - [Help: Pricing and billing](https://submerse.it/help#pricing): the free trial, Pro and having no plan - [Help: Notes and voice notes](https://submerse.it/help#notes-and-voice-notes): writing notes and transcribing recordings - [Help: Sharing a pool](https://submerse.it/help#sharing-pools): sharing by email, roles and leaving - [Help: Public links](https://submerse.it/help#public-pools): publishing a pool as a read-only page - [Help: Import and export](https://submerse.it/help#import-export): browser bookmarks, CSV and Are.na - [Help: Command line](https://submerse.it/help#command-line): installing and signing in to the `submerse` client - [Help: Keyboard shortcuts](https://submerse.it/help#keyboard-shortcuts): the website's main-view, PDF viewer and gallery shortcuts - [Help: AI and privacy](https://submerse.it/help#privacy): the AI switch and what it covers - [Help: Deleting your account](https://submerse.it/help#delete-account): what is removed and how - [Chrome extension](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/bmlkneaojkebmhdfiboeppkfeakkhpok): the Chrome Web Store listing - [iPhone app (beta)](https://testflight.apple.com/join/Xu6KWMWv): join the TestFlight beta ## Optional - [Privacy Policy](https://submerse.it/privacy) - [Terms of Service](https://submerse.it/terms) - [Sign in](https://submerse.it/sign-in): for people who already have an account - [Look RSS feed](https://submerse.it/look/rss.xml): Look's posts as a feed
